1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

1.1 Personal Information You Provide

When you create an account or use our App, you may provide us with:

• Account Information: Email address, name, and password (or Apple ID credentials if using Sign in with Apple)
• Health Profile Data: Age, biological sex, height, current weight, goal weight, activity level, and weight loss speed preferences
• Dietary Preferences: High protein preferences, low sugar preferences
• Weight Logs: Historical weight entries you record
• Food Data: Food scans, food logs, meal types, and consumption records
• Fasting Data: Fasting session start times, end times, and duration
• Chat Messages: Conversations with our AI nutrition concierge

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

• Device Information: Device type, operating system version, unique device identifiers
• Usage Data: App features used, time spent in app, crash logs, and performance data
• Camera Data: Images captured for food scanning (processed locally and/or sent to our AI services)

1.3 Information from Third-Party Sources

Apple HealthKit Data:
With your explicit permission, we access the following HealthKit data:

• Step Count: Daily step data from your device
• Active Energy Burned: Calories burned through physical activity

IMPORTANT: We only read HealthKit data; we do not write to your HealthKit. HealthKit data is used solely within the App to provide personalized health insights and is never shared with advertisers, data brokers, or any third parties for marketing purposes.

2. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide Core App Functionality: Calculate personalized calorie targets, track nutrition, and monitor progress toward your goals
• Food Analysis: Analyze food photos and barcodes to provide nutritional information and health scores
• AI-Powered Recommendations: Generate personalized meal suggestions, healthier alternatives, and nutrition advice
• Track Progress: Display daily summaries, streaks, and historical trends
• Account Management: Authenticate users, manage preferences, and sync data across devices
• Process Payments: Manage subscription billing through Apple's App Store

4. HEALTHKIT DATA USAGE

We take your HealthKit data privacy seriously. In accordance with Apple's requirements:

• HealthKit data is only used within the App to provide personalized health tracking and insights
• HealthKit data is never shared with third parties for advertising or marketing
• HealthKit data is never sold to data brokers or information resellers
• HealthKit data is never used for purposes unrelated to health and fitness features of the App
• HealthKit data may be shared with third parties only if you expressly consent and solely for improving your health or for health research purposes

We access the following HealthKit data types with your permission:

• Step Count (HKQuantityTypeIdentifier.stepCount): To track daily activity and calculate estimated calorie burn
• Active Energy Burned (HKQuantityTypeIdentifier.activeEnergyBurned): To display calories burned and adjust recommendations

You can revoke HealthKit access at any time through Settings > Health > Data Access & Devices > Skini.

5. CAMERA AND PHOTO USAGE

The App uses your device camera and photo library to:

• Scan barcodes on food products to retrieve nutritional information
• Capture food photos for AI-powered nutritional analysis
• Select photos from your library for food analysis

How Photo Data is Processed:

• Photos captured for food scanning are sent to OpenAI's servers for analysis
• Photos are not permanently stored on our servers
• We do not use your photos for training AI models
• Photos are processed solely to provide you with nutritional information

You can revoke camera and photo access at any time through Settings > Privacy & Security > Camera/Photos > Skini.

6. DATA STORAGE AND SECURITY

• Cloud Storage: Your data is stored securely on Supabase servers with industry-standard encryption
• Local Storage: Some preferences and cached data are stored locally on your device
• Encryption: Data is encrypted in transit (TLS/SSL) and at rest
• Access Controls: We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures

While we strive to protect your information, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure.

7. DATA RETENTION

• Active Accounts: We retain your data for as long as your account is active
• Deleted Accounts: Upon account deletion, we delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law
• Cached Data: Local device data is cleared when you log out or delete the App

10. INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFERS

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence, including the United States. These countries may have data protection laws that are different from your country. By using the App, you consent to such transfers.
